Modern day glamour. Old Hollywood meets a new era. These are the thoughts that streamed through my mind when I crossed paths with Maja of My Cosmo Soul. During this interview, Maja shared some insight on creativity, and the importance of spontaneity. Trust me; she’s one to watch! Read on as I catch up with Maja of My Cosmo Soul!

What are your plans for My Cosmo Soul two years from now? To be absolutely honest, I could only wish for a successful blog that is noticed in this electronic era. I said “wish for” because I think that these things cannot be planned. Every word must come spontaneously from the heart.

Did you encounter any difficulties when you first started blogging? Well, as we all know sometimes there is a writer’s block, and you just can’t do anything about it. You just want to share your thoughts and your creative photo work, but it won’t blend in one seamless post. Instead, you get fragments, little bits and pieces of this and that, and at that moment you realize that it’s not going to happen, that you need a break. These are the moments when I seek refuge in nature to regroup and to regenerate my body and mind.

Who or what has influenced your style the most (present day)? “…My style is a mixology of everything and everyone. I see inspiration everywhere (other bloggers, fashion designers, etc.) and then mix and match everything with my current mood and make something unique.”

You’ve mentioned you and your husband’s appreciation for photography. What is a cliché in photography you try to steer away from? This may sound strange, but simply put, we are trying to steer away from mediocrity in any way or form. When we do our creative work we give 100% and we are ready to go that extra mile for results.

Vintage or new? Vintage

Heels or flats? Heels

What’s your top two wardrobe staples for summer? Floral wedges and denim cutoff shorts.

Favorite social media platform? Polyvore. Because you are welcomed to bring out your creativity in any visual style, from interiors to top fashion.

One beauty product you can’t live without? Face moisturizing cream.

You shared a post that captured the beauty of Dubai. What’s another place you wish to visit? Crystal clear water, surreal scenery, wildlife, exotic food, and culture – in one word Thailand.

The “Bohemian Crusaderspost had amazing content. When working on a post, how much of it is planned, and how much of it is instinctual? Our posts always start as planned projects, but then there is an interesting twist. When we come to the designated place, our imagination and instincts kick in, and the final product you see is something…honest and true. I can easily say that everything we do is 90% instinctual and spontaneous, and the other 10% is just basic planning.

What is the greatest satisfaction of being a fashion/style blogger? My greatest satisfaction comes from the idea that I can share my personal style and my thoughts to a…wide audience through photos and inspiring texts.

Maja, it was an honor working with you. You have a unique style that has given me a greater appreciation for photography. Your style is unmatched, and I’m looking forward to seeing what will become of My Cosmo Soul in years to come.

CATCHING UP WITH MARIA @ The Classified Chic

CC 1Images via The Classified Chic

Maria Wilson. Style blogger, wife, mother-to-be, sister, and so much more. Maria is the founder and editor of The Classified Chic, and I’ve been a fan for years. Be it fashion, beauty, food, or travel, Maria certainly has a unique way of sharing her blend of style. She was kind enough to partake in this interview about her creative vision, inspiration, and style knowledge, so let’s dive right in!

You’ve managed to gain a substantial amount of followers since The Classified Chic was created. Where do you see your blog in two years? That is such a tough question because things are changing so much in my life personally, and those changes translate to my blog. I am currently pregnant, and my style is now maternity focused. After the baby is born my style will shift again, and so will other topics. I hope to include more recipes, and touch on interior design. Essentially, having a well-rounded life style blog is my goal. A place for people to find daily inspiration.

How would you describe your style, then versus now? My style is always evolving. Right now, it is changing even more rapidly because I’m expecting a baby later this year. I’d say that I’m definitely not focused on crazy trends as much, and am gravitating towards classics. I’ve been forced to pare down my wardrobe, and am now in love with the idea of capsule wardrobes. I’ll be sharing some of those ideas on the blog soon.

What’s your top two wardrobe staples for spring? My number one would be a comfortable, colorful dress. It may be traditional, but colorful spring dresses are always a great way to celebrate and enjoy the beautiful weather. A great pair of nude heels. Springtime is all about color, and making the best of the weather. A lovely nude heel will go with everything, but try to think a little outside the box from the plain pointy toe. Try a strappy nude sandal for something fun and sexy.

What do you think is the most effective strategy to enhance traffic to a style/lifestyle blog? I don’t think there is one single thing to enhance traffic. It is such a complex subject. The few things that I think help are a good SEO strategy and using social media to drive traffic to your website. In addition to that, creating good content that stays true to your voice.

Heels or flats? Heels!

Polka Dots or Stripes? Stripes.

CC 2 What’s the most important tip you would give a new style blogger? Just have fun! Try to explore new styles, but remember to stay true to yourself. And get out in your community to meet other bloggers who share your passion.

You’ve shared great travel experiences. Is there another place you’d wish to visit? I’d love to visit Greece and Italy someday.

You’ve mentioned that you have a sweet tooth (as do I- Ha!). If there were one dessert you could have every day, what would it be? Hands down, chocolate cake!  Yum!

Collaborations between style bloggers and brands have become the norm over the years. What brand would you like to collaborate with? I’ve had the pleasure of collaborating with so many wonderful brands over the years, and am so grateful to each and every one. Since things are changing so much for me right now, I don’t have one particular brand in mind.

If you could interview a historical figure (past or present), who would it be? There are too many to choose from.  Coco Chanel for fashion and fun.  Marie Curie to spark an intellectual conversation. Audrey Hepburn for everything from style to humanitarian efforts.

Knowing what you know now, what advice would you give yourself at the age of 15? That is truly tough because my high school years weren’t the norm. I’d say to have confidence in the strength within, and that tough times do pass. Carry on without fear, and not to let sadness overtake life. I say this because I spent my middle school and high school years watching my father battle cancer. He passed away when I turned 18, and it was a very difficult time for me and my family.

First and foremost, Maria thank you for being such an open book. You’ve truly inspired me (among countless others) with your style, but now I’m even more intrigued by your courage and strength. Second, I want to congratulate you and Mike on the next chapter of your life. It was an honor working with you, and I’m looking forward to what will become of The Classified Chic.

Josephine is the founder and influential voice behind Josephine Ellen, a style blog that explores fashion, destinations, beauty products, and food. With over 1,900 followers on Instagram, Josephine shares her experiences and what inspires her. Here’s what Josephine had to say about fashion and her dream job.

You created Josephine Ellen a little over two years ago. Do you have specific goals for your blog in years to come? [Josephine Ellen] has always been a fun little hobby of mine. I just wish I can continue inspiring like-minded girls and provide a welcoming community where we can all come together and share our thoughts on fashion and life in general.

You’ve recently moved to the east coast. How does fashion from the east coast differ from the west? Every region has its own style niche. I always thought the west coast was very laidback, bohemian, and casual. Here on the east coast, especially in New York City, it’s all about tailored pieces and looking sleek and sophisticated, which has always been more my style.

What is the most challenging aspect of blogging?Writing is a huge part of blogging, so I’d say it would be coming up with interesting and relevant things to write without constantly repeating what has already been mentioned in the past…”

What’s the one closet essential you can’t live without? Leather jackets.

High-waist or low-waist? High-waist.  Always!

Diamonds or pearls? Diamonds

Canon or Nikon? Neither! I’m a Sony girl.

You’re standing in front of your closet and utter the words, “I don’t have anything to wear (girl’s night out)!” Would you buy something new or try to rework your wardrobe? Buying something new is definitely the easy way out. But I like to rework my wardrobe first – it’s always a fun challenge trying to refresh your wardrobe with the pieces you already own!

What’s your favorite fashion era from the 21st century? Today. It sounds so unimaginative, but fashion trends are constantly recycling through various eras. Today sees a great diversity and blend of it all, allowing people to channel whatever fashion vibe they like.

If you could interview a fashion icon (past or present), who would it be? I love Kristina Bazan of KAYTURE. I think we could potentially be best friends, given the chance!

What is your dream job? I’d love to be able to blog full-time, so I’d say that would be my #1 dream job. Being the Creative Art Director or Marketing Director of a fashion company comes in second place.

Stella 3

Images via Stellaasteria

Last month I was very fortunate to work with one of my favorite style bloggers; realtor and fashion influencer at Stellaasteria. With over 65K Polyvore followers, you will see why Stella A. Douliou will be a household name. Today, Stella shares her aspirations for her blog, who inspires her, and why Greece is truly a place to call home.  I hope you enjoy reading this post as much as I enjoyed interacting with Stella. is fairly new, yet seems as if it’s been around for years (professional & cohesive). Where do you see your blog a year from now? Thank you so much for the compliment! I am very glad to give you one of my first interviews as a blogger. (-: has been indeed around for years but only in my mind, just as an idea, as something I was dreaming of doing. Now that it’s live, I am so thankful, and I have a strong belief that a year from now it will be very successful. Success for me is to inspire and give joy to thousands of people through what I do.

What is the one thing people would be surprised to hear about you? That until a while ago I didn’t have the confidence to create I was thinking about what others may think (colleagues, friends, etc.), but as soon as I liberated myself from these thoughts, everything fell into place.

Current favorite item in your wardrobe? My Chanel Boy Bag. With Boy Bag, Chanel pulled off a design that feels deeply rooted in the house’s handbag history but also new and different enough at the same time…to beguile new customers who don’t like to hold the same bag with their mother. I really can’t wait to see what’s next on the Chanel bag agenda.

One closet essential every woman should own?…A well-structured black blazer.” A blazer that fits you well can pull together a look that’s seriously lacking in other areas. I keep a structured blazer in my office on set at all times, as it’s the easiest way to make even a t-shirt and jeans seem a bit more polished. As it’s usually the cornerstone of an outfit, proper fit is especially important. So allow yourself to make a great investment on this must-have garment.

Three words to describe Greece. Sun, sea, summer.

I feel blessed to live most of the year in Mykonos, which is one of the most touristic islands of Greece, and I can wait for spring/summer season to come, and show you around my “crazy bon-viveur” island.

Stella 2

You shared your admiration for the collaboration between Balmain and H&M in a recent post. What other collaboration would you like to see at H&M? I would love to see a collaboration between H&M and Alexander McQueen. Just think of the evening looks, accessories, and clutch bags! It would be great to be able to shop a collection that captures the essence of Alexander McQueen, but with more wearable, and affordable items. A girl can dream, right? (-:

If you had a chance to work with a fashion designer, who would it be? With the brilliant Karl Lagerfeld. This man is a creative and inexhaustible source of energy, and I really admire his revolutionary approach in fashion. Lately, Karl Lagerfeld photographed his celebrity friends at Coco Chanel’s apartment at Rue Cambon, the place where the biggest revolution of women fashion took place. I would participate in this project in a heartbeat. Who would not love to be one of his fashion muses?

What’s a place you wish to visit? New York during Fashion Week. *Fingers crossed*

With numerous style blogs present, how do you manage to set yourself apart from other style/lifetime bloggers? I think that what distinguishes every blogger is their personal sense of style, their aesthetic, and authenticity. Everything I show and write in my blog is real. It’s me! (-:

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?  It may sound like a cliché, but “be grateful”, is the best advice I have received and also my motto. I am certain that even through the hardest situations, something good always comes up and there is always something great to feel thankful for. It’s never too late to start enjoying the countless benefits of being grateful.

What’s your favorite fashion era from the 21st century? I consider that clothes from the 21st century have already made a great impact on the fashion world by using high-tech and eco fabrics, making fashion from the past new again and by starting new fashion trends for the future.

I love the way that the boho chic style emerged as the millennium version of the hippy look of the 60s and 70s. Many fashion houses such us Tom Ford, Gucci, Burberry, and Chloé have developed great variations of the look, putting together wonderful velvet and suede garments, hats, and fringed accessories. I am also a huge fan of Purism in fashion. “It is a luxurious, aristocratic, quiet, and uncomplicated look based on good cuts, which expresses sophistication and effortless chic…”

Stella, I truly appreciate the time you took out of your busy schedule to partake in this interview. I’m honored to have been the first to do so. You’re clearly on a path leading to greatness. I am more than confident that will be a fashion phenomenon. Look out Fashion Week! Make room for Stella because she’s arrived!
