Francess is the founder and voice behind À La Mode Fran (blog no longer available), a blog where she shares her personal style. Francess launched her blog earlier this year, and since then has managed to command the attention of an abundant amount of followers. Today, she explains her vision for her blog and other insights, so let’s dive in!

Like most style bloggers, you’ve started À La Mode Fran  as a creative outlet. What does the future hold for your blog? I’m hoping next year to create a web design, become more of a lifestyle blog not just fashion. I’ve definitely enjoyed blogging this year that next year I plan on being more consistent with it and see how it goes.

What sets À La Mode Fran apart from other blogs? My style and attitude.

Often, celebrities inspire people with their style. Do you feel more inspired by the style of a celebrity or everyday people on the street? I take inspiration from…celebrities, bloggers, and also people on the street.

How would you describe your style, then versus now? My style has definitely grown, and it’s growing and changing every day as I get older.

What’s your go-to item when you want to make a statement? Heels. Haha. As quoted by Marilyn [Monroe], “Give a girl the right pair of shoes and she can conquer the world.”

What item should every woman have in her closet? Black or dark blue jeans. You can wear them throughout the year, dress them up or down, and slim your leg.  So yeah, definitely a must have.

You manage to find great deals while remaining chic. Do you have a tip for bargain shopping? I online shop a lot and pretty much just browse every store’s sale section for must-have pieces or items for a steal.

Vintage or New? I’ll say new because I don’t wear much vintage.

Heels or Flats? You already know this. Haha. Definitely heels.

Three words to describe Australia. Multi-Cultural, Racist, Expensive

Cat-eye sunglasses or oversized? Oversized

Ralph Lauren or Tom Ford? Tom Ford

Some may say blogging (as a hobby) can be as tedious as a paying job. How do you manage to balance your personal and professional life? I really don’t know how other bloggers do it. Seriously, HOW DO YOU DO IT? Because I’m still trying to find a balance. I’ve got exams on at the moment and moving house as well, and I just couldn’t blog, study, work and go to school at the same time, so I’m on a break from blogging till exams are over.

How do you decompress? I read the bible and pray.

What advice would you give yourself at the age of 16? I went through a lot from that age. I would tell my 16-year old self to speak to someone about being bullied, don’t keep the pain inside, stop hanging around those friends that put you down 24/7, don’t let negativity eat away at your heart, you are beautiful, be strong because better years are coming.
