Trench 1

May is upon us, and we can finally put our coats away. Umm, maybe not. If you’re experiencing the same temperatures I am, then your go-to coat is the trench. The temperature may be cool one day, and warm the next or hot one day, and cold the next. So what better way to combat the temperamental weather than with a trench?

Who knew that the trench coat would be an elegant wardrobe classic? An army officer’s raincoat? Far from it in today’s world. Though I can appreciate the initial purpose of the trench coat, it has indeed come a long way. I mean, who can forget the wonderful Audrey Hepburn wearing the trench coat in Breakfast at Tiffany’s, or the graceful Jackie Kennedy Onassis rocking the coat effortlessly? I even pictured myself wearing the one worn in the Matrix. And yes, I would do the fight scene while wearing that coat. Ha!

Fast forward to 2014- the drapey coat is the most sought after trench, and this year the coat is just as popular. Fortunately, I was able to snag this one on sale (at the time) for ½ of the price. Whether structured or slouchy, sleeveless or with sleeves, the trench coat is here to stay.

I want to thank you for stopping by NRJS, and I’ll see you next post! Have a great day!

    • @Lena,
Thank you darling! It’s funny because when I was younger, it reminded me too much of Inspector Gadget. Ha! But the more comfortable I became with my style (as I got older), the more I appreciated the coat.

  1. I like a good trench! They are effortlessly chic, timeless, and will always be in style. You look effortlessly fabulous! Dropping in to leave my dosage of love and tokens of good vibes! Wishing you the best day! xx
